Freedom Tour
FDG is shaking it up in 2025. After a year of intense development of FDG’s AERS TA/LON Enhanced Tactical Vehicle Enclosure, owners, John and Elisah are hitting the road.
Starting in February, the McGees will tour the country in a Class A RV, living on the road in simplicity, to think creatively. They set off to visit manufacturers, customers, and defense partners, gleaning from them, showcasing the defense industry’s network of brilliance, and creating stronger relationships along the way. Their two young children, Charlotte (8) and Eli (6) will get hands-on learning in this unprecedented year of homeschooling, which highlights FDG’s core value to encourage a strengthened family.
The Vision
As the vision unfolded, a motto emerged: “Do It. Be It. Live It.”
DO IT.
FDG doesn’t “dream”, tag onto others’ success, or provide without value. They DO IT. They value the power of words. FDG evolves, shifts, overcomes, and perseveres. From the beginning and to this day, FDG believes manufacturers in the defense industry are vital to the success of our country’s military. FDG puts them first. They showcase their assets, integrate, and help revolutionize products, so our military gets the very best. Manufacturers are to be respected and honored. FDG values our relationships with them. So, this year John and Elisah are going to them – to see their operations, understand who they are, grow relationships.
BE IT.
FDG believes if you speak it, you should BE IT. FDG’s greatest value asset is digging into military and government problem areas of mission-critical needs. They build trust with customers, solving their most difficult requirements. Trust is achieved by being the person you say you are. John and Elisah live by the saying, “don’t tell me, show me.” FDG is relentless in achieving mission success.
LIVE IT.
When it’s time to fly, FDG lives by example. John and Elisah believe leaders show the way by living it out loud. This is achieved by getting down at level, getting dirty, into the thicket, unafraid of impossible situations. They believe getting comfortable being uncomfortable is where growth happens personally and professionally. Doing this encourages their team to do the same. Team FDG is a one team, one mission mentality.
The McGees cast a big vision for the year with nothing but open roads ahead.
The Team
Future posts will be written from a first-person perspective through the lens of owner, Elisah McGee. She will share thoughts from the road, family happenings, manufacturer tours, industry insight, forward vision, and the pure humanity of life in an RV.
John and Elisah believe in stewarding the next generation of entrepreneurs. Their oldest daughter and University of Alabama marketing student, Madison, will run social media for Freedom Times, and a family friend and budding photographer, Iraland, will be behind the lens.
FDG’s home base team is set to achieve continued orders with a rockstar team – and the McGees will split their time between home base and the road.
